Swim, Winnie, Swim!

This is something I never thought I’d say: “Gotta run. Winnie has physical therapy today.”

Yep. That’s right. She’s swimming in an 88 degree hydrotherapy pool twice a week in addition to strength and stretching.

Apparently, her shoulders (her biceps, really) are rock hard – so tight from shifting all that weight. We’ve only been twice but I think it’s really paying off. And if there can come a day when she will once again be able to make it up a flight of stairs, it’s worth it.

It will come with a daily commitment to her stretching and exercise. It’ll be good for both of us. I thought you all might like to see a video of her therapy. Here it is!! Happy wags to all!

  1. Murphy LOVED his physical therapy sessions, particularly the swimming part. Good for you for getting Winnie into the water.

  2. Winnie, that looks like a lot of fun!! But maybe a bit of hard work, too. I bet you took a really good nap when you got home! Keep up the good work, Winnie!!

  3. Doggone it! I didn’t get to see this v video either! I don’t know squat aboug computers,…i have a table…don’t know squt about them either. But I think you have to do so ething on your end so “mobile devices” can playmthem….jave no clue though.

For now, I’ll just jave ti visualize Winnie having fun swimming! And you know how I hage missing a picture of Winnie!

I’m sure you already know this, but some new gripawds have had to backoff someof the PT when they wentinto it the first month…I’m sure it dependson the type of PT as much as the dog, but just don’t let them push that sweet soul too hard. Sounds like it’s all very gentle though.

Hapy Hannah still will not goup steps…can go down, but notup…uses her ramp for that. Well, I take that back, she did yhe back porch steps formthe first time at seven months!!! Has only doneit a few times since then. She’s a very large girl andit’s just too mich for her…very exhausting. Most dogs do eventually do it though.

Soooooo glad to hear she’s doing well! I know all the PT people fell in love with her just like we did!

Keep on keeping on Sweet Winnie!! We are all cheering you on!

Jusg a thought…..ifnyou put this on Youtube, unlisted, I think it will let tablets see the video then. Paws crossed!

    Hugs to you and Winnie!
